Enjoy a Midwest Favorite at Colectivo Coffee Chicago

Colectivo Coffee Chicago

Looking for a place to get some work done? Or perhaps you simply need a bright spot to meet up with friends you haven’t seen in a while. If you enjoy doing work in coffee shops, Chicago has exciting new cafes to choose from. Take care of all the work you need to do at Chicago’s Colectivo cafes.

This Midwest favorite has picked up steam (no pun intended) in the last few years, growing from an indie coffee roaster with a couple cafe locations in Milwaukee. It has expanded from the few cafes in Milwaukee to open locations in Madison and Chicago.

Formerly known as Alterra Coffee Roasters, this roaster has been supplying coffee beans since 1993. You can still see the beans roasted at their Humboldt Boulevard location in Milwaukee. At all their cafes, their baristas are trained to roast beans and on the appropriate temperatures for every kind of drink offered on menu.

Colectivo does not only offer coffee. All of their cafes have excellent food menus with vegetarian and vegan options. An environmentally conscious coffee roaster, Colectivo Coffee will supply you with perfectly made drinks, unique food, and a cozy experience.

Logan Square Colectivo Location

Coffee shops in Chicago will not be the same. A newcomer, both of Colectivo Coffee’s Chicago locations were established in 2017. Though they are new expansions for the company, the investments have paid off at each of these locations – one at Logan Square and one in Lincoln Park.

The new Logan Square location features sunny interiors in nice weather and beautiful open spaces. As you can see on their coffee websites, Colectivo’s brand leans toward bright, exciting colors that invite and draw visitors in the doors. At this location, warmer weather brings about a sidewalk café that features an outdoor fireplace.

Like with most cafes, Colectivo provides free wi-fi, as well as a ton of seating options. Visit Colectivo at Logan Square to experience the atmosphere yourself.

Colectivo Hours

Colectivo is open from 6:30AM to 9:00PM Monday through Sunday. During these hours, you can find anything on their food, drink, or beer menu, as well as have access to the wi-fi available.

Drinks Offered

Colectivo offers black coffee served in a variety of ways, as well as common specialty coffee drinks. However, that is far from the end of their drink selection.

Blended drinks and smoothies are very popular at Colectivo. You can choose from frappes, espresso shake, and a mocha shake, or you can explore smoothies. Most of their cafes feature the Green Hornet smoothie with apple, kale, pineapple, cucumber, celery, lime, and apple juice. These healthy drink options can be found at all locations, but the choices may vary.

Colectivo also sells Letterbox tea. Tea choices vary from black tea, green tea, white tea, and herbal teas.

Food Available

At Colectivo, they have a full food menu that is filled with exciting, tasty options – made right in the cafe. Whether you are craving breakfast at night or one of their signature sandwiches, you will be able to find what you are looking for.

Some classics include baked oatmeal, granola and milk, toast, and a bagel. Other breakfast options include a Scrambler Sandwich with eggs, smoked cheddar, and veggies on a ciabatta bread or a Chorizo Burrito, featuring eggs, chorizo, black beans, pepper jack, and spicy green chiles. These mouthwatering breakfast options aren’t all Colectivo has to offer though.

You can find lunch classics like an Avocado BLT, a Turkey Club, or a Hummus Wrap. Even the pickiest eaters will find something delightful from Colectivo’s kitchens, so bring your family along.

Beer Selection

In addition to a wide variety of caffeinated drinks, Colectivo has expanded into the beer-brewing game. Colectivo Keg Co. is an offshoot of Colectivo Coffee. In Chicago, these are only offered at Lincoln Park, unfortunately. Don’t let that make you shy away from trying them out though.

The beers produced from this company are as delicious as their coffees. The selection ranges from standard pale ales to imperial stouts, and they produce seasonal batches now as well.

A typical favorite for coffee lovers is the Cortado Imperial Stout, made with milk, sugar, and coffee. The flavors are balanced and full, creating an intense experience for any coffee or beer lover. High in alcohol content and flavor, this choice has been available at most beer-serving locations for a couple years.
